What should I do if the electronic balance is unstable?

01 Increase or loss of moisture in the sample

02 Electrostatic phenomenon of samples and containers
Electrostatic phenomenon may also cause the weighing instability of the electronic balance. Materials with high insulation (such as most glass or plastic weighing containers) are easy to be electrostatically charged. At this time, we can consider using metal utensils. Make the repeatability of weighing better.
03 Magnetization of samples and containers
The magnetization of the sample and container may make the balance mistake that the magnetic force it bears is from the gravity of the sample. So we should often demagnetize when using iron vessels.
04 Position of balance
The position of the balance is very important. We'd better place the electronic balance in one corner of the house, and the room should have only one hole open. Close the door when using it. Generally speaking, the Mettler electronic analytical balance is equipped with a windshield, but if there is a wind blow or the shaking of the test bench, the reading of the electronic balance will be unstable. The position of the balance is correct, which is equivalent to half the problem of the electronic balance.
05 Temperature of sample and container
Temperature has a great influence on the weighing result of the electronic balance, so the use of the Mettler electronic balance generally requires working in a constant temperature room, and the readings of the samples or containers obtained in the laboratory are unstable because the temperature may differ too much from the ambient temperature of the electronic balance. Generally, the balance will have full automatic calibration. If the balance is calibrated externally, it needs to be calibrated manually when the temperature changes. This is also an important step to solve the problem of electronic balance.
